Our Nature Nut Says:

Guadalupe Mountains National Park is known for its excellent examples of ancient, marine fossil reef, fantastic hikes, geological diversity, and so much more. This west Texas mountain range is rich in limestone, best represented in El Capitan, a massive, towering, desert formation. The park has a deep cultural history as well. The park was inhabited by humans as early as 10,000 years ago. Some of the park's highlights include exploring the incredible human record these ancient people left behind - pottery, baskets, and intriguing pictographs.
The park's mild climate makes hiking, camping, backpacking, and critter watching ideal in all four seasons, especially in and around McKittrick Canyon and Pine Springs.
