Our Museum Expert Says:

Lovers of science rejoice! In over 800 exhibits and a dozen halls, visitors to this museum will enjoy interactive areas. By enabling guests to take part in their own scientific experiments, the Center provides a memorable experience for all ages.

The Ontario Science Centre has had over 30 million visitors since it opened in 1969. The innovative building design, consisting of three main buildings connected by a series of bridges and escalators, follows the natural contours of the Don River ravine, into which the Centre descends. The museum itself boasts countless interactive and passive exhibits featuring geology, the science of nature (in the west wing), astronomy, music and technology. Aside from natural science, there are also small theaters here which show slide shows with regular 20-minute demonstrations on such topics lasers, metal casting, and high-voltage electricity. Kids will love the movie complex and screenings of thrilling IMAX films.

Need to re-fuel while here? Choose from the Lobby café's offering of healthy sandwiches, salads and snacks, the Great Hall Kiosk, or Valley Market place. To get here from downtown Toronto, take the Yonge Street subway line north to the Eglinton station and transfer to the Eglinton East (route 34) bus and get off at Don Mills Road. Lastly, make sure to arrive early to beat the lines and have plenty of time for this thrilling and hands-on hot spot.

From Ontario Science Centre:
