New York State and Ontario Family Vacation Ideas
Traveling with children in western New York (NY) and south-central Ontario can make an exciting and enjoyable vacation. Attend the children's programs at the western New York's wildlife refuges and nature centers, stop off at the interactive and educational Science Centers in Rochester, New York (NY) and Toronto. The Strong Museum in Rochester offers the world's largest doll collection, and factor in a trip to the Amazing Maize Maze in Macedon, NY, where children will wind their way through a giant maze cut into a cornfield.
If you have kids, go to Corning! This charming city in western NY of 10,000 is home to the Corning Museum of Glass, which has lots cool exhibitions opening up all the time. It's located downtown, in the Gaffer district, where there are galleries, shops, and hot-glass studios. Also in the Gaffer district are lots of other museums, like three dedicated to the history and technology of aviation.
