Western New York botanical gardens feature literally thousands of acres of outdoor parks, indoor arboretums and conservatories, sculpture and estate gardens, as well as a beautifully-maintained Japanese tea-house.
Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens, in Ontario, has one of Canada's best collections of horticultural trees. In Toronto, don't miss the delightful music garden - one of the best in North America. Whether you prefer carefully manicured estate gardens or the unkempt beauty of outdoor trails, the gardens of western New York and south-central Ontario will not disappoint.
Western New York
Cornell Plantations in Ithaca, NY manage over 3,000 acres of botanical gardens and arboretums threaded with trails along Beebe Lake. Sonnenberg Gardens and Mansion in Canandaigua, New York, is situated on 50 perfectly-manicured acres of land. Sonnenberg Gardens feature nine formal gardens, including a Japanese Garden with a tea-house and a Moonlight Garden with evening-blooming flowers. .
South-central Ontario
The Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens in Niagara Falls, Ontario is home to the Niagara Parks School of Horticulture and contains an herb garden, rock garden, vegetable garden, and arboretum.

- The Toronto Music Garden, on Toronto's harborfront, is a horticultural interpretation of Johann Sebastian Bach's Suites for Unaccompanied Cello. Different kinds of plants and vegetation have been used to represent each musical movement.
- The outdoor Edwards Gardens on Lawrence Avenue are set on 3.5 acres adorned with perennials and roses, rock gardens, a rushing waterfall, and a greenhouse.
- Spadina Historic House and Gardens on Spadina Road include a Rose Garden, a Beehive Gateway, and an English-style garden.
- High Park on Parkside Drive is the largest park in Toronto and a must-see for families with children. Sunken gardens, greenhouses and perennials and outstanding horticulture art and will delight the entire family.
