Experience the whitewater of the Upper Youghiogheny River. Shoot the 10 miles of Class IV-V rapids, extreme whitewater for the very experienced and physically fit only. This section is located in western Maryland, north of Oakland, 3 miles from Hwy 219.
Practical Info: Rafting season is open approximately from April to October, with whitewater rafting trips that can be completed in 1 day. The river is suitable for paddle rafts. Portage may be required.
Useful Tips: Guides are optional, although permits may be required for private trips, and whitewater experience is recommended.
Expect to See: An environment of wilderness, and mountains.
