Among the Carnegie Science Center's great attractions are the newly constructed Buhl Digital Dome, with shows like "A Traveler's Guide to Mars," and "Stars over Pittsburgh" and the Omnimax Theater, Pittsburgh's only four-story theater with stadium-style seating. The Science Center has its own Miniature Railroad & Village, where visitors take a walking tour of western Pennsylvania and realistic animated scenes bring the turn of the century to life. The Science Center is also home to the USS Requin, a World War II submarine, where each exhibit station explains a nautical science concept and ties it to real-life stories about life on the ship.
Besides great exhibits for kids and adults, the Carnegie Science Center has overnight weekend sleepover parties for the adventurous, as well as workshops and programs for preschoolers. When here, be sure to drop by the River View Café to re-fuel properly for your fun-filled day here.
