A visit to the Stone Villa Wine Cellars is a soothing sojourn for the soul. Situated in Acme, PA, at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, Stone Villa's sprawling150 acres of land even contains a small, glassy lake. A sturdy construction of stone and wood, Stone Villa's tasting room features lofty ceilings, wide windows to the tranquil countryside, and a unique stone-slab tasting bar. Stone Villa grows 12 different varieties of grapes and produces over 20 dry, semi-dry, sweet, and semi-sweet wines, including Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Chardonnay. Stone Villa Wine Cellars is open every day except Mondays and holidays. Tours are available on weekends, but call ahead to make sure what time.
Christian W. Klay Winery, nestled in the pastoral countryside of Chalk Hill, PA, boasts a fruity wine collection that has received both regional and national attention. They proudly claim gold and silver medals for several of their semi-dry and dry whites, and reds. Located in an 1880's restored barn with wide windows looking out onto grassy knolls, Christian W. Klay Winery offers tastings year-round with limited winter hours.
