Our Wine Tasting Expert Says:

Castle Creek Winery is located on the banks of the Colorado River, about 15 miles upstream from Moab. It is part of the larger complex of Red Cliffs Lodge, which includes an inn, restaurant, tours, and activities. Both the lodge and winery are built the site of a historic ranch, which actually still functions today. The long, warm growing season and sandy soils in the area are ideal for the many excellent grape varieties that distinguish Castle Creek's red and white wine, all of which is produced from the grapes of local growers. Every year, the winery produces 6,500 gallons of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, and Gewurztraminer per year.

Travelers can visit the winery's tasting room overlooking the Colorado River, and treat themselves to a selection of tours of the premises, including a tasting room tour, tour of the Rio Grande Room, the winery production line tour, crushing of the grapes tour, Rio Grande Winery Deck Tour, and a Winery Holding Tanks and Barrel Tour.
