Shoot the whitewater rapids of the Colorado River's Cataract Canyon. Challenge the 96 miles of Class III-V rapids. First navigated by John Wesley Powell in 1869 this run has over 26 exciting rapids as well as milder stretches for swimming and relaxing. This section passes through Canyonlands National Park and is located in southeast Utah, south west of Moab, on Route 279 -S Fork Rd.
Practical Info: Rafting season is open approximately from April to October, with whitewater rafting trips ranging in length from 3 days to 6 days. The river is suitable for paddle rafts, oar rafts, and motorized rafts. Portage may be required.
Useful Tips: Guides are optional, although permits may be required for private trips, and whitewater experience is recommended.
