Our Nature Nut Says:

This is about as isolated, undeveloped, and secluded as it gets. Parashant is a place to soak up the silence and take in the dramatic mountain views. This incredibly diverse monument in northwestern Arizona spans three vast eco-regions in a wide range of elevations: the Great Basin, the Mojave Desert, and the Colorado Plateau. More than 11,000 years of human history combined with unique geological and natural history make this relatively new National Monument (it received its designation in 2000) a true national treasure.
Many sensitive, endangered, or threatened species such as the Mexican spotted owl, desert tortoise, southwestern willow flycatcher, and the California condor, inhabit the Monument area. There are no paved roads or visitor services of any kind in the park.
