From colorful canyons to sedimentary and volcanic rock, the scenery at Fishlike National Forest is some of the most diverse in Utah.
Fishlike National Forest is brimming with 1.4 million acres of rock, sage, pinion pine and juniper and is home to the remains of the largest known village site of the Fremont Native American culture.
Visitors to Fishlike National Forest can view the ancient petroglyphs in Fool Creek Canyon and enjoy the 12,000 foot peaks of the Tushar Mountains, perfect for skiing, backpacking, mountain biking and hiking. Among the variety of landscapes, colorful canyons and volcanic rocks, there are two National Recreation Trails and a 230 mile loop available for hikers and auto tours, and if you want to stay the night, Fishlike has 19 excellent campgrounds to choose from. The 2,500 acre Fish Lake and nearby 670 acre Johnson Valley Reservoir are the most visited places on the forest for camping and fishing, so don't forget your pole!
The Fishlike National Forest is located in central Utah, near the towns of Richfield, Fillmore, Beaver and Loa. Forest Service offices are located in each of these towns. I-70 runs through the middle of the Forest and I-15 runs along the west side.
