Escalante State Park is 1,350 acres filled with petrified or mineralized wood and dinosaur bones, uncovered after 100 million years underground. Besides exploring and pondering these mysterious natural artifacts, visitors to Escalante can enjoy swimming, boating, and canoeing in the 130-acre reservoir. Those who prefer can also fish for rainbow trout and bluegill or take a hike along the Park's interpretive trail. Campers can choose from 22 campsites, complete with showers. Whatever your fancy, Escalante State Park is a pertifyingly fun getaway for everyone.

Escalante State Park features colorful deposits of mineralized wood and dinosaur bones. The 130-acre Wide Hollow Reservoir on the park's boundary adds water recreation and fishing. OHV riding areas are close by. The park is located 1.5 miles from the quiet western town of Escalante off State Road 12. Facilities include a visitor center, 22-unit campground, modern rest rooms with showers, sanitary disposal station and interpretive trail.
