Snorkeling in Southern Utah
Snorkelers can enjoy a great snorkeling site in the southern Utah region, Lake Powell. In the summertime in particular, snorkelers will find countless coves and canyons to explore in the lake, where shallow waters mean clear views of fish and underwater ruins or formations. The waters will be a bit chillier in the winter, but brave snorkelers (or wet-suit wearing ones) can enjoy the underwater views year round. Snorkelers should be aware that certain shallow areas are algae filled, blocking visibility. Snorkelers can bring their own equipment or buy or rent from retailers in Page, Arizona or dive shops in Cedar City and/or St. George.
