The Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden is a leading center of palm research and conservation, and boasts 83 acre of rare tropical plants. From palms and cycads to flowering trees and vines, this garden has it all! There are 11 lakes, a rain forest, and a variety of flowers including orchids, mountain roses, bellflowers, coral trees, and bougainvillea. Visitors are invited to take the free guided tram tour, and enjoy garden sales, moonlight strolls, and symphony concerts. There are hands-on gardening activities for kids and the LEAF ("Let's Explore at Fairchild") program in which kids can enjoy planting seeds and cuttings, creating nature crafts, and examining the inter-relationships of plants, animals, and people with the environment.
