A day of discovery and exploration is on the way as you interact with over 200 fascinating exhibits at the Museum of Discovery and Science in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Visitors to this spectacular museum can witness a living Atlantic coral reef housing sharks, hang out with bats, play with a 12-foot snake, pet an alligator or enjoy the 11,000 square foot nature trail in an amazing Everglades exhibit. This museum really has it all, offering a fun-filled day of wonder for all the family.

You'll love Runways to Rockets, an exhibit on the mysteries of space, and at Florida Ecoscapes, you'll discover Florida's ecosystems in a bi-level ecology exhibit. In Sound, you'll witness a symphony of light and sound in a giant musical Kaleidoscope! And don't miss Gizmo City, where you'll discover universal science concepts behind today's modern technologies.

Specially designed for children under seven, the museum's Discovery Center offers a chance to climb a tree, build a wacky wall or hoist a sail. This special exhibit for youngsters will set them on a course for exciting learning adventures.

The Museum of Discovery and Science houses an IMAX movie theatre showing movies like the Mysteries of Egypt and Cirque Du Soleil's Journey of Man. The museum's Explore Store sells puzzles, posters, science kits, clothing, DVDs, jewelry, stuffed animals, toys and other gift items.

The Subway Food for Thought Cafe is located on the first floor of the museum and the museum's dining area is located in the Grand Atrium and provides tables and chairs and several picnic tables. There is also a lovely area for picnicking in the Esplanade Park across the street from the museum.

To reach the Museum of Discovery and Science, take I-95 north (from Miami) or south (from Palm Beach) to Broward Boulevard. Drive east to SW Fifth Avenue (Commodore Brook Avenue) and turn right. The Museum is on the left.
