Our Museum Expert Says:

Arrange your finances at a miniature, kids-only bank and shop at the local supermarket! With 12 galleries, a 200-seat auditorium, classrooms, a gift shop and a parent/teacher resource center, this brand new, state of the art children's museum is a must visit that you are sure to enjoy!

The Miami Children's Museum opened its new building in 2003 and has a mission of enriching kids and instilling a love of learning through its creative exhibits, such as its re-creation of an NBC television studio, a Carnival cruise ship and even a port stop in a re-created Brazil. Other cool permanent exhibits here include the Castle of Dreams - a two-story sandcastle that kids can explore, a Health & Wellness Center - where families can learn the benefits of good nutrition and exercise. and Pet Central - which teaches kids how to care for pets. The museum also features Mt. Michimu, a rock-climbing exhibit that allows kids to climb indoors; one-climb and all-day passes are available. The Miami Children's Museum also offers classes, camps and even a film program for kids.

When you're ready for a snack break, stop in at the Subway restaurant to re-fuel. To get here from north or south: Take I-95 northbound or southbound. Exit at I-395/MacArthur Causeway and then exit at Watson Island and follow the road to the museum.
