Smathers Beach is one of the largest and most beautiful beaches in Key West, teeming with activity and serenity. Though waters can be a bit murky, the beach itself is positively stunning. Rent some equipment and enjoy some watersports – Smathers Beach is, after all, known as the "action" beach. That being said, however, does not mean that quieter beach bums won't be able to find their calm; Smathers Beach is an active beach, but pockets of quiet and seclusion are not too hard to come by.
