Naples Municipal Beach is not just famous for swimming and beach bumming, but is widely known for its fantastic fishing pier. The Naples Fishing Pier is located at the end of 12th Avenue South and is a place for fishing, buzzing activity, and history. The pier was built in 1888 and served the city of Naples as a freight and passenger dock as well as a sort of city center. It has gone through many stages of building and rebuilding due to a fire in 1922 and hurricanes in 1910, 1926, and 1960.
