A very special canoeing experience is available in the Everglades, where you can paddle around the 10,000 Islands area. At Everglades City, off of the Tamiami Trail, you can rent a canoe and venture out on your own, or you can choose to partake in a guided tour. Paddling through the Everglades swamplands you will see the famous Mangrove jungles, sawgrass prairies, and teeming wildlife.
Kayaking is available in the Keys. You can rent kayaking equipment from different vendors in the Keys and venture out on your own. Alternatively, you can partake in one of many guided tour kayaking excursions. The guided tours are varied, sometimes featuring eco-tours, sunrise or sunset, and even snorkeling stops, and are recommended for exploring more remote areas. There are guided tours available for all skill levels.
