Scuba Diving around Miami, Florida
South Florida is renowned for its water activities, so it's no surprise that there are many diving opportunities in the region. As the weather is almost always warm, you can pretty much go diving all year round, but a wet suit may be required in the “winter.” Both offshore-access and boat-access diving are available. There are a large variety of environments to dive in, including large living coral in the Keys, many artificial reefs off the Gold Coast, and a multitude of wrecks. You can even try diving for treasure in South Florida!
There are many dive shops from which you can rent equipment and arrange boat charters, especially in the Gold Coast, Miami, and Keys areas. Since there are many dive operators in the region, it's worth shopping around to get the best price. Be aware that you must be properly certified to legally dive in Florida. Larger dive shops can assist you with this.
