Biking in Key West, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami Beach, Southern Florida

Things to do / Travel Guide

As the South Florida terrain is very flat, with the region's peak elevation being under 100 feet, it offers excellent road biking opportunities. There are marked bike lanes in many places throughout the region, and most of the state parks in South Florida have paved biking paths. There are plenty of bike stores, especially in the beach areas, where you can buy or rent bikes and appropriate biking gear. As the weather is almost always pleasant and warm, you can bike all year round, but be sure exercise some caution in the summer months, when the mercury regularly rises into the 90s.
