Rogue River is a city encompassed by nature. Located in scenic southern Oregon, the city lies in the midst of three mountain ranges, making for endless activities and beautiful wildlife sightings. Rogue River, designated a wild and scenic river, flows through the city and is a dream for all who visit. Aside from the activities to be had on and around Rogue River, the city offers plenty of fun, with many parks and several museums. Being in the heart of a region where the Cascades, the Siskiyous, and the Coast Range meet, the weather is perfect, with warm, dry summers and moderate winters, making Rogue River a great place to visit year round.

Bring the family to Rogue River's Palmerton Arboretum where you will see a beautiful collection of specimen trees and a variety of labeled plants, shrubs and trees. Besides plants, the arboretum has a duck pond, a playground and a picnic area. The arboretum also offers easy access to Evans Creek Road. Rogue River's other parks - Coyote Evans, Fleming, and Anna Classick, offer services for horseshoes, tennis, and boat ramps. If you want to go camping, the Valley of the Rogue State Park, three miles away on Interstate 5, offers complete camping and RV facilities on the river.

The Woodville Museum has a great collection of pioneer artifacts. The museum has events and festivals throughout the year, such as the National Rooster Crowing Contest. If you want to catch a great festival, visit Rogue River the last Saturday in June for a traditional small town parade and jamboree.

On Rogue River, you can go fishing, boating, sailing, waterskiing, recreational rafting and wild water rafting. Water-skiing, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, and jet-skiing can all be enjoyed on the lake portion just below the city of Rogue River. Rogue River flows from the Cascade Range, in southwest Oregon, to the Pacific Ocean, and at 215 miles long, there are separate sections of the river for each activity. Rogue River is home to trout, salmon and steelhead. You can take a guided rafting tour with your family or venture out on your own. Private trips may require permits. Rafting is very scenic, with deer, bears, and eagles roam the canyons and mountains surrounding Rogue River. The river is also geared for paddle rafts, oar rafts, and inflatable kayaks, though portage may be required.

Rogue Valley International Airport in Medford is just one of the airports that will get you within half an hour of Rogue River. From the airport you can take hired transport or you can drive your own car.
