We kind of liked the name Pear Tree Factory Stores, since this area of Oregon is loaded with great fruit, including pears, grapes and more. So, it was kind of easy to remember. However, it seems that the owners had something else in mind and this popular Medford, Oregon outlet mall is now called "The Shoppes at Exit 24". "Shoppes" because for some reason all malls seem to use British spelling for their shops and exit 24 because you will find all the outlet malls in Medford, Oregon at exit 4 of I-5. By "all", we mean just this one. Driving north on I-5 from California, this is the first outlet mall you will hit in Oregon. The next ones are around Eugene, about 3 hours drive north. But you probably did not come to Oregon for the shopping. If you came for the wineries, you are in luck with several wineries located off I-5 just a few miles from this Medford, OR shopping mall.

Assuming you are looking for bargains, lets start planning. Get started with your daily infusion of java at Dutch Brothers Coffee, a rather small (certainly when compared to Starbucks) chain limited to the Western United States. Its is a drive-through (look for the windmill logo) and they seem to be especially proud of the Dutch Chocolate they serve. Shop at the usual collection of outlet stores – Bass, Van Heusen, etc as well as some local stores. Compared to other outlet malls, this one has a pretty good selection of dining options. Go Hawaiian at the Grass Shack or just go for the usual at McDonalds.
