The course is beautiful - you'll have perfect views of volcanic peaks, as well as the snow-peaked Mount McLoughlin. The rough is quite difficult and there's plenty of sand for you ball to fall into, or to just serve an optical illusion as you try to judge distances. The front nine is fairly flat, while the back nine has many elevation changes. Not easy, but certainly satisfying.
