Our Sports Superfan Says:

Opened in 2003, the Home Depot Center is the home of the premier soccer-only venue in the United States. It currently hosts two Major League Soccer teams, and has been the site of several international matches, including the 2003 Women's World Cup final match. The Home Depot Center, which cost $150 million to complete, also has a velodrome, tennis center, and track stadium, making the overall complex a miniature Olympics site. The complex has hosted the X-Games, rugby, lacrosse, and concerts.

Both David Beckham and his Los Angeles Galaxy teammates, as well as their crosstown rivals, CD Chivas USA, play their home games at The Home Depot Center. Soccer games here are played in the 27,000 seat main stadium, which is the largest soccer-only stadium in the United States. In addition to the '03 WWC, other important soccer games played at the Home Depot Center have included the 2003 MLS All-Star Game, and the 2003 and 2004 MLS Cups. The main stadium was also host to the first three USA Sevens, an international rugby competition, from 2004-2006.

During the summer, ESPN's X-Games use all parts of the facility. The annual extreme sports competition has BMX, motorcycle, auto rally, in-line skating, and skateboarding races, as well as other competitions at the Home Depot Center. The track and field facility at the Home Depot Center has 20,000 seats, and is home to Major League Lacrosse's Los Angeles Riptide. It also hosts several track meets.

The Home Depot Center is located in Carson, California, on the campus of Cal State-Dominguez. It's about 15 miles south of downtown Los Angeles, and is accessible via automobile and the Metro's Red rail line and 52 bus.
