Our Nature Nut Says:

Come play in the backyard of L.A.! Angeles National Forest covers over 650,000 acres, and is as diverse in its appearance and terrain as in offering for enjoyment.

Home to one of the tallest mountains in Southern California, Mt. San Antonio, also known as Old Baldy, which tops out at 10,064 ft, the Angeles National Forest offers year-round opportunities for camping, hiking, swimming, boating, picnicking, and sightseeing. Visitors can enjoy over 800 miles of forest trails which lead hikers, mountain bikers, equestrians, and off-highway vehicle riders across rugged backcountry, along high, scenic ridges, and through shady, tree lined canyons. During the winter, visitors can ski at one the five ski areas. They can also snow camp, hike, snow-mobile, or just play in the snow. Much of Angeles National Forest is covered with dense chaparral which gives way to pine and fir-covered slopes as you ascend towards the majestic peaks of the higher elevations of over 10,000 feet. Along the way, note how the vegetation changes with elevation. Keep a watch out for bobcats, mountain lions, and bears. You may even catch a glimpse of an impressive Nelson bighorn sheep.

Angeles National Forest is located at 701 North Santa Anita Avenue in Arcadia, so pack up the family and come visit this forest filled with fun!
