From a shrunken head and six-legged cow, to a full size portrait of Hollywood cowboy John Wayne fashioned from dryer lint and a sculpture of Marilyn Monroe made from 264,000 discarded $ 1 dollar bills, Ripley's Hollywood will leave your head spinning. The Museum houses hundreds of rare artifacts from all over the world. It is part of a museum chain that originated with Robert Ripley's personal collection of oddities that went on display at the 1933 Chicago's World Fair. Today, the Hollywood museum has nearly 300 unusual and fascinating items and exhibits collected by world-famous traveler Robert Ripley. If traveling with kids, the odd atmosphere within may provide fascination, but you may want to decide in advance which exhibits are most appropriate. Hollywood has plenty of great food options in the vicinity, and the museum is just a 1/2 block from world famous Grauman's Chinese Theater on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
