The first science museum to combine interactive science exhibits with a planetarium and an IMAX Dome theater, the Fleet is located in Balboa Park, which is filled with gardens, intriguing architecture and cool fountains. The Center features more than 100 interactive science exhibits in five galleries, as well as major traveling exhibitions.

Visitors here can create colored shadows, design images with a sand pendulum, examine the vibration of guitar strings and get their hands on a variety of intriguing scientific phenomena. The adventurous should check out the 23-passenger motion simulator ride and Do-Undo, which records and instantly replays your every move forward and backwards. Kids will enjoy a city designed just for them, complete with a Book Nook, several Young Explorer Computers, a child-sized Grocery Store and a kids' Factory. When you get hungry, try the Galileo Cafe for a sandwich or salad.

If traveling South on Interstate 5, take the 10th Avenue exit near downtown and turn left on A Street at the first light. While turning get into one of the two right lanes, cross 11th Avenue, then turn left on Park Boulevard. Go through four lights and then make a left turn at Space Theater Way into the parking lot.
