Our Museum Expert Says:

Visit your favorite Hollywood stars, all in one wax-filled museum! Celebrating 40 years in the spotlight, this attraction is home to a variety of famous folks that you can get up close and personal with.

The Hollywood Wax Museum was created by entrepreneur Spoony Singh, who opened the Museum in 1965. The building has a small storefront, but behind it are some 180 wax figures of media stars, fictional characters, and famous politicians. Visitors can spend an afternoon with Shirley Temple, Charlie Chaplin, Jay Leno and Freddie Kruger among many others. There's a short film on Oscar winners shown daily and the lighting here is purposely kept low to give the wax figures a more lifelike appearance. Older kids will enjoy the 'Scary' section, a traditional Chamber of Horrors, which features movie monsters and scenes of torture; if traveling with tots you may want to skip this life-like exhibit. Outside the museum, there are footprints in concrete of some of the movie stars sculpted in wax inside. Remember: Hollywood is filled with great places to eat, so be sure to enjoy lunch or dinner in the vicinity. The Hollywood Wax Museum is located on the Walk of Fame one block East of Highland Ave. If headed north on the 101 Freeway, Exit at Highland towards the Hollywood Bowl, turn left onto Hollywood Blvd, so don't miss this trip to meet the stars!
