In Long Beach, history and Cold War buffs can visit the Russian Foxtrot Submarine, code named "Scorpion." Visitors are not only welcomed and invited to rummage through the Soviet-era vessel, but there is even a retired Russian submarine officer on hand to answer any questions, provided they don't chew away at Russian state secrets. To ensure an enhanced visit to the attraction, it is suggested that would-be visitors call ahead of time to make sure the former Russian submariner will be available, as he is not present every day.
