The Malibu Lagoon is located where the Malibu Creek hits the Pacific Ocean. Here guests will be able to swim to their heart's content, surf (at Malibu's Surfrider Beach), go fishing off the Malibu Pier, go for beautiful nature walks, go birdwatching, and wind the day down with a lovely picnic.

Still not enough for you? Well Malibu Lagoon State Beach has even more in store if sticking to the beach isn't enough to satisfy travelers on the go: Take a break from the surf and head to the Adamson House, a National Historic Site built in 1929 – a great example of Spanish-Moor revival-style architecture and a wonderful place to lookout on the Malibu Pier and Surfrider Beach. You'll also find the Malibu Lagoon Museum, which charts the history of the area from the Chumash Native American tribe all the way up to the present surfer generation – a great place to take refuge from the sun and to learn some history along the way!

Calling all nature lovers: Malibu Lagoon State Beach is THE place for you! There are guided tours of the wetlands, monarch butterfly hotspots, tidepools, and gray whale lookout points. You'll find birds galore, flower gardens, and the Malibu Beach Trail, a great place to explore the natural world that Malibu has to offer!

Malibu Lagoon State Beach is located in Malibu just off the Pacific Coast Highway at Cross Creek Road.
