Address:Malibu, California
Welcome to a beach where you and your family filled with exciting options for the beach bum, the explorer, the sportsman, and the aquatic! Walk through a cave and arrive at the glorious beach at the end of the tunnel, windsurf, swim, surf, camp, hike, and just chill out with friends and family – you'll find all this plus more at Malibu's Leo Carrillo State Beach! A small visitor's center at the state park provides guests with information about organized nature walks, the best spots for surfing, fishing excursions, and other activities and programs for your wee little tots, your teenagers, mom and dad, and grandma and grandpa!
The beach/state park was named after Leo Carrillo (1880-1961), an actor and preservationist who accomplished great conservationist acts in the State of California. He is also known for his role as Pancho in the 1950s TV show, the Cisco Kid.
Camping is extremely popular at Leo Carrillo State Beach, so make sure you reserve your spot early. There is space for tents and RVs (to 35 feet), clean restrooms, hot showers, and a small store where you can buy anything from flip flops to bacon for the morning grill. The campsite is open year round and the weather is always gorgeous. And located only 28 miles north of Santa Monica, Leo Carrillo is easy to get to and convenient! Enjoy!
