Address:Laguna Beach, California

Our Beach Bum Says:

Laguna Beach hosts a variety of beaches, with Main Beach, in the center of the town, one of the best beaches in Orange County, California. Being situated downtown does not detract from the beauty of the beach nor does it affect the quality of the swimming, surfing, sunbathing and fishing. It does, however, provide some conveniences hard to find on other beaches. In addition to lifeguards, showers and restroom facilities, the beach is backed by a large sports, entertainment, and play area. Join a game of basketball or volleyball, enjoy a small concert or entertain the kids at the playground. There are plenty of dining options in the area, with the sand and surf just a few steps from the restaurants of the South Coast Highway.

The town of Laguna Beach, California is a popular seaside resort, artist community and home to the rich and famous about an hour drive south of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), and about an hour and a half north of San Diego. Expect the trip to take longer during peak travel times. The Main Beach is located off the intersection of the Coast Highway (also known as the Pacific Coast Highway, or California Highway 1) and Broadway (an extension of Laguna Canyon Road that connects to I-405, the San Diego Freeway, near Irvine). Free parking is virtually non-existent, but garages and metered parking spots are available very close to the beach.
