1,000 Steps County Beach - Laguna Beach, California

Things to do / Travel Guide

Address:Laguna Beach, California

Our Beach Bum Says:

There aren't really 1,000 stairs at this beach, but it certainly feels like it. With over 200 steps leading from the Pacific Coast Highway down the bluff to this portion of Laguna Beach, 1,000 Steps County Beach is certainly not one of the area's most popular! Which means more room for you! 1,000 Steps Beach is filled with locals (who are used to the strenuous hike) and their pets (who apparently don't mind the stairs either). There are of course a fair share of out-of-towners to the area as well who are attracted to this beach for its fantastic surfing. 1,000 Steps County Beach is also known as a great place for lovers – perhaps since it's so secluded or perhaps because this beach is open late (until 9:00pm). It is also a clean beach, which is always nice for everyone!

1,000 Steps County Beach is located at the south end of Laguna Beach. Parking can be found on the Pacific Coast Highway or on the side streets in the area. Just take the stairs and you're there! Just remember…after a long day at the beach you'll have to hike back up the stairs to you car, so make sure you save a little energy for the walk up the bluff! Enjoy your workout and have fun!
