Our Nature Nut Says:

Don't let the name fool you. Although Saguaro National Park is indeed home to the majestic saguaro cactus, a Tucson native, it is also home to several other dramatic cacti species and three endangered species: the Mexican Spotted Owl, the Lesser Long-nosed Bat, and the Sonoran Tiger Salamander. Many visitors enjoy the park's beautiful scenery from behind the wheel of their air-conditioned cars, but, if you can stand the southern Arizona heat for just a few minutes, you must get up-close and personal with the saguaro giant. In winter (the ideal time to visit) there are several guided tours and biking, backpacking, and hiking become much more enjoyable.

From Saguaro National Park - Tucson, Arizona:

The staff at Saguaro National Park invite you to "Experience Your America" in a way that only the Sonoran Desert can offer. This unique desert is home to the most recognizable cactus in the world, the majestic saguaro.
