Things to do / Travel Guide
Southern Arizona is not only hot, it's also a hotbed for professional sports. The US Airways Center is host to the NBA's Phoenix Suns. You can also chill out at the Glendale Arena, where you can watch an ice hockey game featuring the NHL's Phoenix Coyotes. Just across the street, the brand-new Cardinals Stadium is the best place to see some NFL action. And, of course, the 2001 World Series Champion Arizona Diamondbacks play Major League Baseball over at Chase Field.
This hotspot of sport is also host to two college Bowl games every year: the Insight Bowl at Chase Field and the Fiesta Bowl at Cardinals Stadium. NASCAR likes the area so much that they burn rubber at the Phoenix International Raceway twice a year in two different Nextel Cup events. Horseracing, professional volleyball, and rodeos also pack spectators into the seats in this region.
