Things to do / Travel Guide
The 1,200-acre Saguaro Lake, located about 40 miles east of downtown Phoenix, is a popular spot for kayaking, thanks to the coves and caves that dot the more than 22-mile shoreline and provide plenty of opportunities for exploring. Canyon Lake, northeast of Mesa, is another popular spot.
Sit-on-tops, canoes, and sea kayaks can be rented for reasonable daily prices at the many boating outfitters located in Phoenix, Mesa, and Tempe. On weekends these two lakes get crowded, so if you have the option, try to schedule your visit for during the week.
