The Bluestone is a scenic 11-mile-long river winding through southern West Virginia. The river traverses deep canyons and peaceful forests and provides great rafting and boating opportunities. Other popular recreational activities include trout fishing, mountain biking through the backwoods, and hiking along the forested trails. Few roads lead to the park, so plan on traveling a lot by foot or by boat.

This scenic river preserves relatively unspoiled land in southern West Virginia and contains natural and historic features of the Appalachian plateau. In its 11 miles, the lower Bluestone River offers excellent warm water fishing, hiking, boating, and scenery.
