Things to do / Travel Guide
There's only one casino in the southern Appalachian Mountains region, and that's Harrah's Cherokee Casino, located on the western edge of North Carolina. The Indian casino, run by the local Cherokee tribe, is open 24/7 to patrons aged 21 and older. North Carolina law stipulates that all gambling games must be “games of skill” and that only video gaming is allowed. Though you'll find no table games are offered at Harrah's Cherokee Casino, the venue offers video poker, video versions of craps and blackjack, and video slots which feature two opportunities to spin the reels per wager.
