With 30,000 square feet of hands-on fun, engaging exhibits and exciting programs, the Louisiana Children's Museum is an invaluable resource for anyone traveling with kids. Designed with curious kids in mind, children are invited to lift 500 pounds, trap their shadow, and even anchor the evening news. Even little ones have a special space here to climb, crawl, hide and explore when they're not visiting Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood and stepping into giant eyeballs. Educational museum exhibits teach children how to make smart and healthy choices in nutrition and fitness, safety, substance abuse prevention, and conflict resolution, and some are aimed directly at increasing children's awareness of the disabilities of others.

The Louisiana Children's Museum holds daily art classes and special weekly activities such as jewelry making and storytelling. The museum also houses a theater which hosts morning programs. Don't forget to check out the indoor playground, reserved for toddlers aged three and under and the mini-fitness center with a kid-size stationary bicycle and rock-climbing wall.
