Celebrate America's most widely recognized indigenous musical art form! The New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park teaches all about the origins and history of jazz and invites visitors to experience it firsthand! The New Orleans Jazz Park preserves resources associated with the origins and early development of jazz including paraphernalia and information pertaining to pioneers Freddie Keppard, Scott Joplin, Buddy Bolden, and Louis Armstrong. The Park is dedicated to educating and entertaining all who visit.

Located in Louis Armstrong Park, in the Treme neighborhood of New Orleans, this historical park has an office, a Visitor Center, and a concert venue several blocks away in the French Quarter. Visitors are welcome to explore exhibits, hear lectures, and watch films about the beloved musical genre, or if you're looking for a bit more of a real jazz experience—check out one of the many live concerts offered here! There are also walking tours that bring guests around to various areas of the Park, highlighting main features and inducing great interest in U.S. music history. The activities calendar always offers exciting ways to experience the thriving live jazz scene around New Orleans. On Saturdays, the Park hosts a variety of musicians who explore the origins, development and progression of New Orleans jazz—so plan your trips accordingly!

To reach the Visitor Center by car, take I-10 and head towards New Orleans. Exit at Orleans Avenue (exit 235A) and turn south towards the Vieux Carre (French Quarter). Continue on Orleans Avenue which will turn into Basin Street. From Basin Street make a left on Conti Street and then a left on North Peters (the last road before the river). The Visitor Center will be up ahead on the riverside of the street, past Cafe DuMonde, and underneath the Bella Luna Restaurant—stop for a bite when you're done with your tour!
