Reliant Stadium is Houston, Texas' football stadium and home of the NFL's appropriately named Houston Texans. The stadium sits 71,500 people and also sports one of the NFL's only retractable roofs. In addition to regular season football games the stadium also hosted Super Bowl XXXVIII, and is the annual host to the NCAA's Texas Bowl and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. In addition, many big-name bands pass through here when they play in Houston.
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (HLSR) is the world's largest rodeo and is located in a city that takes its rodeos very seriously. 2.5 million visitors enjoy the three-week long event in late February/early March.
Over 70,000 people have attended music performance by Beyonce, ZZ Top, the Cheetah Girls, and others during the rodeo with a different performer featured every day. Almost 200,000 people attend "The Cookoff", also known as the World's Championship Bar-B-Que contest.
Reliant Stadium is located just off of I-610 between Kirby and Fannin streets. Parking is available, although, for events that compete with Houston's rush hour, visitors will be better off going via "Park and Ride" and METRORail. You can take the Red Line (the only line) to the Reliant Park Station for $1.
