Our Show & Concert Fan Says:

Welcome to University of Texas' very own Bass Concert Hall. It is the flagship theater at the university's Performing Arts Center and is the largest of such theaters in Austin, seating 2,800 guests. The seating area is big, the stage is huge, and the backstage area is gigantic. This larger-than-life theater complex accommodates 100 musicians in the orchestra pit and has dressing rooms for more than 100 performers. Lighting and sound both use state-of-the-art technology. With a facility like this, it's no wonder that the Bass Concert Hall attracts such huge performers and such large-scale productions.

Bass Concert Hall is famous for implementing environmentally-friendly "green" initiatives in their recent renovations. This includes fritted glass (deflects incoming heat and cuts back on unnecessary energy-use), recycled glass countertops in the lobby, dual flush toilets (reduce water use), and various paneling made from renewable resources, including wood from certified renewable forests. Go to Bass and go green at the same time – you get to have fun and help the environment!

The Bass Concert Hall has hosted major performances in the past, including Legally Blonde the Musical, John Legend, the University of Texas Symphony Orchestra, Broken Social Scene, and more! Current and upcoming shows you won't want to miss include Mamma Mia!, Dora the Explorer Live, Elvis Costello and the Sugarcanes, Wicked, and The Color Purple.

The Bass Concert Hall is located at the University of Texas at Austin's Performing Arts Center at the corner of 23rd Street and Robert Dedman Drive. There is parking available on Robert Dedman Drive.
