Our Nature Nut Says:

Originally acquired by the Nature Conservancy of Texas, Enchanted Rock is 1,643.5 acres of Texas history and outdoor fun. The enchanted rock itself, a pink granite exfoliation dome, rises 425 feet high and covers 640 acres of the park area. One of the country's largest basoliths, the native Indians once believed there were ghost fires at the top of the rock. Today, visitors are less fearful and even enjoy rock climbing and geological study here. The surrounding area is filled with wildlife such as prickly pear, Bluestem and mesquite grassland, as well as armadillos, lizards, and turkey vultures. And for those truly enchanted by the rock, camping with amenities is available for a comfortable overnight stay.
