Open fields, creeks, and streams; you'll need all the tricks in your bag to come through the front nine with your dignity still intact. You'll play the back nine in a tremendous rock quarry featuring sheer walls rising almost 100 feet on three of the four sides. One of the most exciting holes, if for no other reason but its name, is called "Escape from Alcatraz." The 17th Hole requires a tee shot over a deep canyon chasm. "Golf Digest'' ranked it 28th in its listing of the "Top 75 Upscale Courses" for 1996.
