Expert White Water Rafting Review

Shoot the whitewater rapids of the Tonsina River and challenge the 35 miles of Class III-IV rapids. This section passes through Wrangell St. Elias National Park and is located in south-central Alaska, east of Anchorage, 10 miles from Hwy 4.

Practical Info: Rafting season is open approximately from Mid May to mid September, with whitewater rafting trips that can be completed in 1 day. The river is suitable for paddle rafts, and oar rafts. Portage may be required.

Useful Tips: Guides are optional, and whitewater experience is recommended.

Expect to See: Eagles, moose, and bears in an environment of wilderness, and mountains.
