Shoot the whitewater rapids of the Truckee River and challenge the 12 miles of Class III-IV rapids. This section is located in east-central California, north east of Truckee, west of the California Nevada border, on I-80 , where railway crosses the river, below Boca reservoir.
Practical Info: Rafting season is open approximately from April to October, with whitewater rafting trips ranging in length from a day trip up to 2 days. The river is suitable for paddle rafts, and oar rafts. Portage may be required.
Useful Tips: Guides are optional, although permits may be required for private trips, and whitewater experience is recommended.
Expect to See: An environment of wilderness, and mountains.
