Venture down the whitewater of the Kings River. Experience the 10 miles of Class III-IV rapids, the largest whitewater river in Sierra Nevada with over 25 rapids.Ride through Giant Sequoias and magnificent canyons. This section, Garnet Dyke to Kirch Flat, passes through Kings Canyon National Park and Sequoia National Forest and is located in south-central California, east of Fresno, on Route 180.
Practical Info: Rafting season is open approximately from April to August, with whitewater rafting trips that can be completed in 1 day. The river is suitable for paddle rafts, oar rafts, and inflatable kayaks. Portage may be required.
Useful Tips: Guides are optional, although permits may be required for private trips. Outfitters on the Kings River offer trips suitable for families (in summer).
