Yosemite sees huge visitation each year from all around the world for good reason - glittering, silver waterfalls, massive granite cliffs, a massive collection of plants and animals, Giant Sequoia groves, green meadows, and spectacular views are the perfect recipe for an extraordinary National Park.
Of the countless waterfalls in the park, Yosemite Falls is not only the largest in the park at more than 2,400 feet, but also one of the largest in the world. You can endure a challenging hike to the top or take an easy walk to Lower Yosemite Falls. One of the park's most jaw-dropping views come from Glacier Point, offering stunning vistas of Yosemite Valley, Half Dome, and several waterfalls.
The park is also rich in cultural history: there is an Ansel Adams gallery, a historic cemetery, and several National Historic Landmarks.
From Yosemite National Park - California:
Yosemite National Park embraces a spectacular tract of mountain-and-valley scenery in the Sierra Nevada, which was set aside as a national park in 1890. The park harbors a grand collection of waterfalls, meadows, and forests that include groves of giant sequoias, the world's largest living things.
