A popular History Museum.

Founded in 1996, the Tahoe Heritage Foundation's (THF) mission is to preserve and protect the cultural heritage and natural history of the Tahoe Basin through restoration, education, and interpretation. THF acts as a partner to the USDA Forest Service through a Memo of Understanding and provides funds for restoration, interpretation and education through proceeds from merchandise and book sales from locations at various Forest Service sites, through proceeds realized from special events, through grants and donations.
